TEKS

TEKS is the generic name for the fittings that should be used to attach the sheets. When using TEKS they must always be fitted at a 90-degree angle to the sheet and secured tight enough, until there is a slight bulge, however too much tightening may cause damage to the sheets and cause them to leek.
The following of types of TEKS available:
- TYPE AB for wood – Used for fixing sheets to timber.
- GASH POINT – Similar to TYPE AB however a little easier to secure to timber
- STANDARD POINT – For fixing to cold rolled galvanised z purlins and soft metals
- LONG POINT – For fixing to thicker steel structures
- STAND OFF GASH POINT – Same as TYPE AB and gashpoint fixing to timber however can be used when there is insulation being used.
- STAND OFF STANDARD POINT – As standard point but can also be used with insulated sheeting
- STAND OFF LONG POINT – For thicker steel structures with insulation
- STANDARD TEKS FOR FIBRE CEMENT SHEETING – For use with cold rolled z purlins, more expensive, however cut costs on labour
- SEAM STITCHERS – For side stitching profiled sheets
- STANDARD POINT without washer – As standard point but when a water tight seal is not required
- TYPE AB POINT without washer – As TYPE AB but when water tight seal is not required
- TYPE B with/without washer – Used when drilling material is too to thick or hard for self drill (requires pre drilled hole)
